COOKOUT WITH THE CLIENTS.

ASSISTING CLIENTS WITH VITAL SIGNS, FEEDING, ASSISTING THE NURSES DURING MEDICATION, DR. APPOINTMENTS, ACTIVITIES WITH THE CLIENTS. I LEARNED THAT MENTAL ILLNESS CAN HAPPEN TO ANY ONE AT ANY TIME. MANAGEMENT DEPENDED ON THE PNA TO ASSIST THE CLIENTS WITH DAILY NEEDS AND WE DID OUR VERY BEST TO TAKE CARE OF THE CLIENTS. I ENJOYED WORKING WITH MY CO-WORKERS BECAUSE THEY WERE A YOUNGER GROUP AND I WANTED TO TEACH AND GUIDE THEM. THE HARDEST PART OF THE DAY WAS WORKING SHORT STAFF AND NOT ALWAYS GETTING TO DO THE LITTLE THINGS FOR THE CLIENTS, BUT WE MADE IT WORK. THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF THE DAY WAS SEEING THE CLIENTS SMILE AND BE HAPPY AND THANKING US FOR ASSISTING THEM WITH THEIR DAILY NEEDS.

Interesting place to work

This job had it's pros and cons. Generally, not a bad job. There were times when it was dangerous because of the type patients served, but this job gave lots of time off.

Good job with ok pay, but the administration makes things difficult.

This job is a good job if you are suited for it. Not everybody can do this. You have to have a strong level head. Quick tempers will get you a lot of trouble, including legal trouble. The hardest part of the job is letting people pretty much assault you while trying to keep from doing anything in return. You will have objects including chairs, tables, DVD players, and from time to time bodily fluids thrown at you. The administrative department likes to place all these policies that, while good on paper, will not work. Its difficult to run an environment when you spend zero time there. Administrators come to the units RARELY, and when they do its because they are doeing a required inspection. The most enjoyable part of the job was the floor teamwork and making a difference in peoples lives. It is a difference that takes a while, but its there to see none-the-less.
