Working here is a challenge, it is certainly not your average job.

At my present position with Pilgrim Psychiatric Center, there really is no typical day. The patients, like any one else, have their good days and bad. My co-workers are supportive, something that is essential on a psychiatric unit. We work together as a team, especially with crisis situations. It is most rewarding when a patient responds to verbal intervention, and further actions can be avoided, such as restraints and medication. However, dealing with a patient that has lost control is difficult for all involved.
