July 09, 2013 I would look elsewhereIf you are a new-grad looking for experience this is an ok place to start. However management is top down, dictatorial, no room for advancement, compensation sucks for the work you do, limited resources, employees with tenure are not valued, everyone can do everybody else's job which is truly not the case (Example: You work in psych, great now you can do recovery room. This model is really not safe patient care). If you are an experienced nurse, this may not be your cup of tea!! |

May 09, 2013 productive, clean, an all around nice place to workI only worked here for a short amount of time but it was a clean, productive working environment where I would come in, greet the people I worked with, prepare myself and my station and proceed to start seeing patients. Here I developed a new found confidence in my technique and my ability to perform even in stressful cases. I also got a feel for the varying types of patients one might see on a day to day basis and learned how to positively interact with even difficult people as to hopefully relax them and make them comfortable. My co-workers were all friendly while maintaining a professional work environment. The supervisor I worked under was very dedicated to his job, very professional, helpful, supportive and encouraging. I got into the routine of things very quickly and it was a comfortable place to work. The hardest thing about this job and that I could see being the hardest with any profession was handling difficult patients simply because you can control yourself, what you're doing and be excellent at your job, but you still may not be able to please that one patient. The most enjoyable part of the job was working in a positive, performance driven environment. |
