A good place to learn

Work is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get until you walk into the building. Huntington is a trauma center, a stroke center, a heart center, and serves varying communities making work interesting every time you walk in the door.

Collaboration and communication with the healthcare team is vital in providing excellent patient care.

I worked as a registered nurse on a busy oncology medical surgical unit. I enjoyed collaborating with the healthcare team and taking part in team meetings. The most enjoyable part of being a registered nurse is taking superior care of my patients. As a registered nurse, I along with my coworkers faced challenges. As a team we worked together to provide the best patient care.

Great Company

Good organization and people friendly. The staff at Huntington goes to extremes to be able to satisfy patients and guests. The goal is to give the customer what they need and meet all expectations necessary.

Gratifying work with lots of support from Hospital employees.

There weren't really any Typical days in the hospital, every day brought in new patients withe different needs and different needs. There was plenty to learn during my internship, from filing away paper work and computer files to how to properly sanitize rooms between patients. My co-workers were my classmates and we were supervised by real hospital workers depending on the department we were assigned to. The hardest part about this job was not being able to follow up with the patients because we only really got to see them on one day, two if we were luck, before they moved on to a different place of gone home even. The most enjoyable part of working at the hospital was knowing i was part of someone's recovery and the respect i gained for doctors and nurses.
