Many opportunities for growth and achievements presented early with building condition, staff issues, and continual staff, mid, and upper management turn-over. Great place to exercise talent, no executive level support in holding incompetent people accountable.

Tele/MS RN , CM

Started as tele nurse, charge nurse, and float nurse. Worked very hard 12 shifts. Very satisfying. Downside no techs or dietary aides so we did everything from making beds to passing trays to I/o'S, to codes, reading strips. Upside was at the time it paid well and allowed me to get great hospital experience. Also I got the opportunity to go in to CM which I Loved and have done every since. Utilization review and discharge planing on busy tele unit. Floated to very floor in hospital allowing me to get more experience.learned Meditech, Ecin, and other computer programs as well as Interqual . Very satisfying to be able to help patients and families. Downside managed 36 bed busy unit with high turnover by myself doing both dc planning and UR but on upside it was the best experience I ever got and when I went to another hospital it was like going from military to civilian life and I found other place a lot easier because I had managed so much.
