Community Health Choice of Surrounding area

I work in many different areas in the hospital from Surgical and Medical, to Home care and Hospice, and Wound Center. I like the variety of CHC of Branch County. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping the patients on a daily basis whether through tasks, time, education, or just listening. The hardest part of the job is coordinating care with all the involved parties.

I was given the autonomy to pretty much set my own hours.

I worked as the sole employee in their Cardiac Rehab Program. I spent Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays running the exercise program for patients who had suffered some sort of cardiac issue. I learned a vast amount of information about cardiac issues and their connection with other health issues. I also learned how to be an effective manager due to the fact that I also worked as a House Supervisor at Community Health Center. The house shift manager was in charge of the hospital in the absence of the administration. I also was trained to work on any floor in the hospital, because as the house shift manager you were expected to fill in where ever and when ever you were needed to.

Fun and rewarding job with many challenges and behaviors

I cared for up to 13 patients on a Behavioral Health Unit, teaching them behavioral skills to use in everyday life, I have learned to be patient and understanding and to lend an ear when someone needs to talk. All of my co-workers and I all worked as a great team. The most enjoyable part of the day was having patients thank you for saving their life. The hardest part of the job was dealing with difficult patients that didn't want help. Management was always there to back us up or help out if our unit was busy. To ensure safety for all.
