March 19, 2015 Good place to work, but many changes.Generally a good place to work, but there were many changes, maybe because it was Fairview's only hospital that was not unionized. |

January 26, 2015 The staff at Fairview Ridges are very happy. The Ridges is a great place to work. Staff and management get along well. There are some complaints from non-contract staff that there accrual of scheduled time off is capped and they do not recieve as many payed educational benefits as the RNs. |

August 20, 2013 A Place that is not afraid of advancement, and a new learning experience everday.A Typical day at work would be coming in to a busy environment, (this is an emergency dept) phones ringing, physicians switching shifts, nursing staff switching shifts, co-workers coming or going, orders to be placed. What I learned was how to work effectively in what could to some be a stressfull environment. I believe that management period is a hard job, sometimes you have to make decisions that everyone is not going to like, but for the most part I think that my immediate manager did her best to try and help those that she managed. Everyone is not always going to get along, or you may find 2 or 3 people that just don't mesh well, however that has nothing to do with the job and I do believe that people have to be mature enough to think about the companies image. So for the most part my co-workers were fine. I believe the hardest part of the job, was promotion period sometimes when you have done exceptionally well and others have not given their best you can be promoted over them and that may not sit well. However if you are just and maintain an attitude of humility I think people can get over it. The most enjoyable part of the job was the new experiences working in the ER, I learned alot of things working so closely with physicians and nurses and also just the people. |

March 12, 2013 Love working at Fairview Ridges hospitalA typical day of work involves working as an NST, which means I am either on the floor working as a nursing assistant or working as a HUC at the nurses station with the charge nurse. When I am on the floor I work with nursing staff to help and assist them with getting supplies and equipment and helping in deliveries before and after. I assist in turning over the OR's after cesareans and help in their as well. I help the nurses with whatever they need and always offer to help them in any way. I clean and stock rooms as well. When I work at the desk I admit patients, make charts, discharge patients, help charge nurse organize the work flow of the floor. I room patients and help with whatever they may need. |
