The staff are mostly related

The staff are lack luster and are generally cousins as well the management. Nepotism is the way to go. The facility was under investigation for patients on the geriatric ward pod 4 having broken bones. This was top headlines before 2010. They have cameras to protect the patients. The staff are the ones who need medication. If your not in a click then you will be set up to be fired. Notice that people get fired in a mass exodus 40 at a time at intervals.

Enjoyable experience working with the mentally ill

In the am make medical round, evulate and treat any problems that occured overnight, review and order medical medications,handle medical emergencies, simple sutruing and I and D, and do the yearly H and P, .In the afternoon it was treatment team meetings every day for 4 hours.Learned a lot about psych meds,how effective they were in some and not in others and a lot about being chronically mentally ill and how that inpacted daily lives. Mamagment was supportative, co-workers worked a team that included the psych doctors, medical and social workers.The hardest part of the job was seeing how awful it can be to be chronically mentally ill with no hope for recovery.The most enjoyable was working with and getting to know the patients

The state is a great place to work.

I was able to balance my work during the shift. Medication pass, trearments and documentation. The mangement was helpful there was always training for the nurses. The co-workers were team oriented. The hardest part of the job was when we had mandatory overtime. Most enjoyable was you got to leave on time.
