understaffed, underpaid compared to hospitals in the area.

Work your everloving a@@ off. No staffing,,,,dangerous to critical care patients. Inexperienced nurses floated to unit just have a body with RN on their name badge due to nursing shortage. Unable to keep staff because upper management doesn't give a flip about patients. They sit in Ivory Tower and count money.Very, very good critical care nursing staff. For the most part 90% of physicians are very good. Poor attitudes because staff is abused. Doing good in CCU if you get to each lunch. Also doing good if you don't have 3 critically ill patients.Underpaid. relative to surrounding hospitals. If upper management could be boot out the door, improvements could be made to the hospital and care would be improved. CEO's idea of morale booster is to carry a bag of candy around hospital and give candy bars to nurses..;( I have been a critical care nurse for 25 years, and this facility is worst one I have worked in,,, except for excellent nurses and doctors.

I found it very rewarding when I was able to lay my head down at night knowing that I made a difference.

Good place to get experienced

Its a great place for the newly graduated nurses to get their exp. They have some great nurses to train under.

Negative culture

Management is excellent at jumping in to help however there is a considerable amount of negativity from nurses.
