January 13, 2015 Productive, compassionate place to work.A typical day at work consists of running several groups and performing mobility assessments as needed. The bestpart of my job is interacting with patients for my entire shift. Running groups allows me to connect with patients on a level that is most enjoyable. |
October 28, 2014 We work as a team.Busy unit from start to finish. Learn over the years to work well with others . All nursing staff are quantified persons. Most important is work as a team. Together anything and everything is accomplished. |
March 21, 2013 Overall a great company to work for.Challenging and professional environmnet. Learned about a variety of mental illnesses and ways to assist clients in getting treatment.A typical day-triaging patients, getting report from Nurses at other hospitals on incoming patients, assessing patients mental health and physical health needs. Enjoy the variety and working with MD, SW's and other mental health professionals. |
March 05, 2013 Caring & sensitive environment for a variety of patients with mental health issues.Butler is a professionally managed Psychiatric care facility. I coordinate care for 9-10 patients on a team with the assistance of a Mental health worker. I administer medications & instruction regarding medications' purpose & dosage to all 10 patients on my team. I assess my patients' psychiatric state each shift & determine care options. I report changes in condition to the patients' doctors. While working on day shift I participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings. I work with & direct the team when a patient is in crisis & needs de-escalation. We practice least restrictive care, but at times a patient may need seclusion & restraint when they are a harm to themselves or others. I am particularly impressed by the staff's professional & caring attitude. I learned the importance of team work while doing psychiatric nursing. The hardest part of the job is working with a patient that cannot be reasoned with in any way. The best part of my day is when I see a patient smile when they realize we care about them & that there is hope for them. |
