May 20, 2015 internship varied and informativeMy internship at Strong Memorial Hospital was very informative and enlightened me about various facets of professions within the medical field. I learned a great deal about how hospital clinics are structured and how various processes are run. I was exposed to a variety of real cases and learned a great deal about a wide range of neurological conditions. My management was very good. My internship favored variety over structure, so I spent time with many different individuals within the hospital and university. However, the doctor overseeing my activities did a good job in making sure that every day was purposeful in furthering my education about neurology and hospital processes. The hardest part of the job was the exposure to so many patients struggling with neurological disorders and/or injuries, as I was unable to help them directly. This corresponds, however, with the most enjoyable part of the job which was my ability to bring a positive attitude into the clinic and help to cheer up some of the patients, especially children. My overseeing doctor commended me on this ability on multiple occasions. |

September 04, 2012 Generally a good place to workTypical day was very busy with a lot of learning. Management was sub-par. Hardest part was the lousy hours and swing shifts. I really enjoyed the patient population and meeting needs of those that cannot care for themselves. |
