nothing boring about working in the emergency department

every day varies. always ready for the unexpected to come thru the doors. could be the young kid who fell while rock climbing or could be the elderly tourist who is having a heart attack. we are more than co workers, we are family. we share family births, deaths, marriages, divorces, graduations and secret family recipes. the hardest part of my job is working non-stop for 12 hours, many days there are no breaks for lunch... this is also the most enjoyable part of my job... putting your patient and their families needs above your own is the most rewarding feeling. knowing that you will be going home at the end of your shift while some may not is very humbling.

Good paying job but no personal reward

Reviewed accounts for billing errors. Worked with patients on payments and managed payment plans. Assisted with helping patients get financial assistance when needed. Too big of a company that doesnt care much about their employees.

Fast paced hospital with ample learning opportunity.

As an Echo intern I do echocardiograms daily with TEE, stress echo, cardioversion, and stat's thrown in.The lab is small with only five techs, but the hospital is fairly large. Over 200 inpatient beds and around ten cardiologists. Staff is incredibly friendly and eager to help.

Disgrace

Worst hospital the United States has ever had. No care for patients only money and the end of their hours.

Would love to move to the Rapid City area, but need to live near a good medical facility and because of the bad reports on the Rapid City Hospital will not move there until they get better management. Currently live in Sioux Falls, SD and Sandford Hospital is wonderful.
