Great working atmosphere

I really enjoyed my internship at the VA Medical Center. I recommend that all nursing students apply for the VALOR Program that takes place over the summer between your junior and senior level classes.

Excellent internship

-Worked in the Geriatric Clinic, assessing the needs of aging veterans and providing them with information and resources.-Lead an economic hardship group, which required in-depth understanding of local resources for heating, housing and food.-Researched and compiled a resource list for south eastern MA to distribute to veterans in need.-Became proficient at administering geriatric assessments, Montreal Cognitive Assessments and mini mental status exams.-Worked with another Social Worker to put together resource folders for our patients that are care giving for the elderly or disabled.
