I loved what I did, but didnt' understand the need for un-paid overtime.

I was always wiling to come in and help out, but with a sick newborn, I felt that what was expected, 20 hours of unpaid overtime in the emergency room, was not required of my position. It, in the end, was what made me leave!!

This facility has the ER nurse work on the hospital floor which are mostly swingbed patients, has you work as charge nurse and orient new staff even though their own staff are working beside you. You will be the only nurse in the ER at night unless you ask for help. The amount of micromanagement is a joke considering the place is a glorified nursing home. It is unorganized and too many chiefs without enough Indians. Oh, and the town has 1stop-light and is a hour away from a Walmart or anything normal. Buyer beware!
