Pleasant staff, work environment, and patients

Received report, assessment, passing of meds, when working on the floor. When working in the ER: checking of supplies, crash cart, defibrillators to be prepared for all emergencies. ACLS certified. Go on ambulance transfers. Assisted in recovery room when needed.

Perry Memorial Hospital was a very small hospital with a team nursing approach to patient care. The staffing to patient ratio was excellent.

A typical day included a team nursing approach with an RN and CNA working together to provide care. The patients ranged from infants to geriatric patients; consisting of medical, surgical and telemetry patients. Management changed often during the time I was employed; so direction was inconsistent. The most enjoyable part of the job was caring for our patients to the best of our ability and see them recover. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the death of a young patient.
