House Supervisor

I enjoy interacting with employees, doctors, patients their families and friends, making sure at the same time that they are happy with the care they are receiving. I coordinate schedules for daily work schedules in keeping costs down when the areas of each department are overstaffed. I am both a patient advocate and also assist/listen to those who are unhappy about care, etc. and then I try to correct the situation for them, using my communication skills I have and continue to perfect. I listen to those with complaints with empathy letting them know I sincerely care about their complaints and try to correct them to the best of my ability, or at least let them know we, the hospital, take their issues to heart and we will look into the issues we are presented with.I assist, when needed the areas in the hospital when they are overwhelmed with work, to help in keeping stress factors to a minimum. I assist the Emergency Care doctors side by side when they need an extra hand to assist them in caring for patients.I feel over the last two years as a nursing/house supervisor that I have learned so much regarding employees, customers and upper management expectations that I have implemented and now follow making patient and employee satisfaction more consistent. My background as a trauma/ED RN allows me to help and take on patients when our emergency department is full, again helping to keep the physicians and fellow nurses from becoming overwhelmed and slowing patient care.
