August 01, 2013 Friendly office enviromentMy days are fairly repetitious. I start off with pulling up my billing program through CPSI and review/correct and submit medical insurance claims. Typically I bill for Medicare/Medicaid and other government based insurances but I bill commercial companies as well. Not only do I bill our patient's primary insurance but I also bill secondary claims. I typically bill anywhere from 100-500 claims a day. After I send out my initial claims in the morning I will go through any emails I receive from other departments within the hospital giving me corrected insurance information, changes in diagnosis coding or charges. From there I prepare and send out any corrected claims and make profile changes to patient accounts. When I'm through with my corrected claims I move on to secondary billing. Overall I spend my day sending out insurance claims and making any necessary changes to patient's accounts. I do some insurance follow up as needed. I do help answer patient phone calls and resolve any issues at hand. Im very good at problem detecting and satisfying patient needs. Our patients mean a great deal to me and I always try my best to help them in any way I can. I want our patients to know that even after they leave the hospital we are still there for them and want to provide the best service we can.Overall I love my job, I love what I do and I'm good at it. My co-workers are friendly, I've never had a problem with anyone. We've had a lot of changes in management which has been rough but we all stuck together and have been working hard keep the office up and running. The hardest part of my job would be having to sit all day. I literally am at the computer my entire day. |
