Tri City is a good, effecient and caring hospital

Patient care, being sure they have medication on time, changing dressings. the other nurses on the floor where I worked were very helpful with teaching and also willing to help as needed, pleasant people . Management was fair, and cooperated with needs of the nurseHardest part of the job?? not being able to stay late to chart, even on my own timeMost enjoyable, patient care and helping them feel as good as possible. working with other nurses is very enjoyableLearned?? oh so many things about being a good nurse

great place to work

Loved working the night shift with my co-workers. Was able to do a lot of 1 on 1 with the patients on my unit.

Great learning opportunities with a supportive staff

I work 5 nights a week, 8 hours shifts as a relief nurse to ensure nurses take their required breaks. It's a great opportunity to see a little bit of everything happening on the floor and a provides a chance to connect with all the patients. What I have learned from this position is that it is not very friendly in having a healthy work life balance. Very hard to find time for my family and 2 days (really 1 1/2) days off is not enough time to recover. With that said, I am new to the state and San Diego area is very competitive, so I always draw to the positives in being fortunate in having a job in the career field that I have worked so hard for. My Assistant nurse managers are very supportive with my schedule and take the time to listen and try to accommodate me in every way they can in order to make sure I don't get burned out. The hardest part of my job is the work/life balance and not having the 3 12hr shifts but I enjoy it because I love being able to do a little bit of everything and meet all the patients to ensure their needs are being met.

Great place to work. Everyone was very nice.

After clocking in I would check for new patient charts that needed to be made. Called patients to the desk to get their information to complete these charts so that they could then see the ER doctor. In my down time I would input charges from earlier in the day. Helped in the clinical area as needed.
