Riverside Hospital

They do offer 401K with matching. Teaching hospital so very good educational opportunities. Management very competent, at least I saw that in my units I worked on. Always understaffed though without any agency to fill in, ICU trauma based and Nurse/Patient ratio should be 1 nurse/ 2 patients and has been 1:3 more often than I care to admit. Also you get sent to ER often to TCU where ICU nurse takes care of overflow ICU/tele patients and can have as many as 5 patients with an occasional tech helping. The pay they say is competitive for the area but I know for a fact that one hospital in same city pays $4 more per hr and hospital in Hampton pays $5 more per hr and I don't know if this is because this hospital is a teaching hospital and they don't pay very well because of that. If you want overtime, you will definitely get it here.

nice space and nice atmosphere.

only thing I can find that can use improvement, is to have nurses sit at a nurse station and not alone at a pod. not good due to lack of interaction among collegues if help is needed reguarding a patient care. no one to relieve you if needed.
