CVICU Travel Nurse
Cardiovascular intensive care unit registered nurses get right to the core (or to “the heart”, if you will) of administering care to patients following open-heart surgery.
CVICU nursing jobs are considered one of the more difficult specialties in nursing because of the nature of their practice. However, this means that cardiac medical centers and hospitals are always actively seeking talented RNs to fill their open spots while offering handsome pay.
CVICU RNs are responsible for documenting cardiac medical histories, conducting diagnostic tests, evaluating test results, providing treatments and medications as directed by the cardiac physician on staff. CVICU nurses are expected to be knowledgeable in utilizing advanced technology while also able to communicate with a patient and their family in a respectful and understanding manner. These nurses need to be constantly on their toes because critical thinking is probably the biggest skill required in the fast-paced world of CVICU nursing.
TravelNurseSource’s massive database is brimming with CVICU travel nursing assignments in locations all over the country. With the demand for cardiac vascular trained RNs growing as more Americans get diagnosed with heart disease every year-- it’s the perfect time to think about travel nursing!
