All ED nurses are expected to rotate through each of these areas regularly. In addition, nurses are assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. Nurses can expect to be assigned a different area at minimum daily, and may be rotated during their shift, depending on the patient volume and needs of the unit. May be assigned to assist with Covid testing and/or immunization clinics as needed. SHIFTS: Variable - Self Scheduling Model (assigned after arrival)- Shifts may change as facility does rely heavily on contractors so as one leaves someone’s shift may change to accommodate their staffing needs, may need to cover day shift/night shifts. Schedule is typically 5 on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off with 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, plus 2 12-hour on-call shifts/month. Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work.
