Must have excellent endoscopic vessel harvesting expertise. Job Summary: Performs role of surgical assistant for a variety of surgical procedures under direct supervision of attending surgeon. Performs role of circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse when required. Assesses patient status, maintains a save care environment, manages equipment use and delegates/directs care provided by Surgical Technologists and other support personnel. Responsibilities include: Collaborate with the cardiovascular surgery team to provide high-quality patient careAssist in a variety of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including CABG, Aortic Reconstruction, complex valve surgery, Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy, Ross Procedure, ECMO, vascular access, sternal closure, etc.Utilize excellent endoscopic vessel harvesting expertise to enhance surgical outcomes Comfortable operating within an academic-style cardiac programUphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and clinical excellence Requirements: Bachelors Degree: Nursing (Required) Graduate of accredited school of Nursing; successful completion of additional educational preparation specific to the role of RNFA including supervised clinical component (Required) Three (3) years experience in Cardiovascular Surgery and Heart/Lung Transplantation (Required) General Experience demonstrating skills in intraoperative nursing behaviors - handling tissue, using instruments, providing exposure, providing hemostasis (Required) BLS - must be AHA (Required) CNOR - Certified Nurse Operating Room (Required) RN-LIC - Registered Nurse License (Required) ACLS (Preferred) CFA - Certified First Assistant (Preferred) Additional placements at Temple Health either need to be vaccinated or have an agency approved medical or religious exemption for COVID-19.
