It’s that time of year again! National Nurses Week is a national celebration of nurses that takes place from May 6 to May 12. Nurses Week was started by the American Nurses Association (ANA) in 1993 to commemorate nurses and recognize all of the hard work that they do. In case you didn’t know, one of the ways that companies show their appreciation for nurses is to offer them free products throughout the week! What better way to celebrate your career accomplishments than to enjoy these Nurses Week freebies? As long as you remember to bring your ID with you, you can enjoy free stuff from the following locations all week long!
Nurses Week Freebies
Food
Enlightened Ice Cream
From May 6 to May 12, nurses and friends of nurses can send each other coupons for a free pint of ice cream or a free box of ice cream bars! This is one of the sweetest Nurses Week freebies because if you send a coupon to your nurse friend, you’ll get one for yourself too! Be sure to submit a request for a coupon before it’s too late.
Cinnabon
Nurses can enjoy another sweet deal at Cinnabon from May 6 to May 11. Cinnabon has partnered with The DAISY Foundation for years to offer nurses a free MiniBon or a free pack of BonBites! If you have a sweet tooth, find the nearest Cinnabon and enjoy some free treats.

Nurses working evening hours can get their caffeine fix from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. EDT at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations. A free 16 oz. Dunkin’ Dark Roast iced coffee will be given to any nurse with a valid health care ID!

Nurse Journal
For those of you who don’t know, Nurse Journal also offers year-round online courses that are completely free to nursing students! These classes are an excellent way to learn more about the field of nursing and help you on your journey to becoming an RN!
Despite State Senator Maureen Walsh’s incendiary comments, nurses are some of the most hard working professionals out there. And as many of you know, a nurse does not have much time to play cards. They spend long hours assisting other medical professions and helping their patients live fuller and healthier lives. That’s why it’s important to set aside a week to remind them just how important they are. So, if you’re a practicing nurse, get out there and enjoy some Nurses Week freebies! You have certainly earned them!
What are some ways that you celebrate National Nurses Week? If you’re a nurse, what are some of your favorite Nurses Week freebies? Did we miss any of them? Let us know in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you! Have a happy National Nurses Week!

First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints? Thank you!|

The best advice I can give is to just start writing! Don’t worry about finding the best way to start. Most times I write the middle first and then an intro and call to action last. Good luck!
