You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. This role requires a high level of expertise, teamwork, and attention to detail. Responsibilities: Preoperative Preparation: * Assess and prepare patients for cardiovascular surgical procedures. * Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist. * Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly. Intraoperative Support: * Assist the surgical team during procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, and providing instrumentation. * Monitor and maintain sterile field integrity. * Continuously assess the patient's vital signs and respond promptly to any changes. * Administer medications and fluids as ordered by the surgeon or anesthesiologist. * Operate and troubleshoot specialized CVOR equipment, such as heart-lung machines and intra-aortic balloon pumps. Postoperative Care: * Transition patients to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or cardiac intensive care unit (CICU). * Monitor patients for post-surgical complications and provide appropriate interventions. * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. * Educate patients and their families on postoperative care and recovery. Documentation and Record Keeping: * Maintain accurate and complete medical records. * Document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Safety and Infection Control: * Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections. * Ensure the safety of patients and staff during surgical procedures.
