General CommentsHospital: Mission Health Location: Asheville, NC Address: 509 Biltmore Ave (Mission Campus) Unit: PMPC-633 Building: Mission Campus G Bld General Information Unit Specifics: Number of Beds : 23: (15 Step-Down High Acuity beds on one side of unit and 8 Covid Positive patient beds on separate unit) Patient Ratios : 15 bed side: 1:4-5, 8 bed side: 1:4 (Max ratio unit due to unit size) Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Days: 1 HUC, 2-3 NA s, Nights: HUC 7p-11p, 2 NA s Type of equipment: In all patient rooms: Bedside Monitors, computers, scanner for med administration. Some patient rooms have sky lifts, for all others there are mobile lifts for safe patient movement, bed alarms, sitter select/chair alarms, mobile telemetry for off unit monitoring. Portable monitors, bladder scanners. Documentation system: Cerner/power chart Scheduling requirements: modified self-schedule, every other weekend. Floating policy: Float as all other staff to SD and Med-Surg units. We use a float/pull grid for fairness. Patient Experience requirements: Patient communication board in room, purposeful rounding, ICARE communication, patient safety/excellent care/medication explanation. RN/MD bedside rounding, bedside reporting. Dedicated respiratory therapists on unit Installation of TPA and Dornase into chest tubes (advanced competency) Hospital Specifics- Certifications: Active Nursing License, BLS, Telemetry Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: telemetry, BLS/ACLS. Preferred Skills: Familiar with pulmonary patients, Bipaps, tracheostomy, chest tubes, wounds, wound vac, drains, renal patients, IV insertion, maintenance of central lines, and post-op monitoring. Experience with patients on ventilators-but not required Advanced skills needed: Medication administration/instillation via chest tube. If RN does not have, our staff can train and check off for advanced competency. Experience with Ventilated patients-requested but not required as some of our patients are vent weaning and or on hospital/home ventilator. Procedures performed on unit: Chest tube insertion with MD, Thoracentesis with MD, Dobhoff placement with VATT team, Instillation of medication via chest tube-completed by RN s. CAPD-completed by Renal Nurse, HD-completed by Dialysis RN at bedside, Bronchoscopy-performed with MD and Endo team, Specialize in trach care, vapotherm therapy titration and vent care in with Respiratory therapist team.
