Nearly all travel nursing companies will reimburse travel costs such as airfare. Plus, these can be tax-free! A lot of times, travel nurses end up living close enough to the hospital they're working in that they don't need to drive anywhere. They choose to forgo having a car on assignment all together. That takes away a lot of the expenses for travel nurses. However, some nurses choose to get a rental car while on assignment so that they can use it for activities while they're visiting. A lot of agencies will offer stipends to help cover those costs. However, I wouldn't necessarily expect that you definitely get reimbursed for rental car costs.
