Takes getting use to

Nice and professional staff within the hopital outweighed the bad. I now have te utmost respect for doctors and nursing staff. Medical professionals are always in an unpredictable environment. Environment adaptation has to be second nature. Enjoyed meeting some of the nicest people that I have ever met. Very genuine.

great place to work but I do drive an hour to get there

Enjoy my job and my coworkers, plan to be there for the long haul and I am just looking for a second job. Management is pretty much like it is any where. There is good and bad but they do their job. I work the night shift so it is hard to get in touch with them except via email. The hardest part of my job is being understaffed and having so many new nurses on my team. It makes it hard for me to take care of my own patients because I to help them but we all work together so it still works out well. For example, if I have been helping them with questions or situations, then they will help pass my medications so I don't get behind. I encourage team playing with my coworkers. Our days vary from having a few patients to so many we are understaffed. My most enjoyable part of the job is making a patient feel better, being able to open up to me and express and questions or fears they may have and know that I have relieved some of that tension and stress.
