Travel CNA - Long-Term Care in Hot Springs, SD - Summary: * CNAs provide essential help to registered nurses and doctors, who supervise their work as they Provide basic care and assistance to injured, sick or infirm patients. * In long-term care facilities, CNAs are often the main caregivers and contact points for residents. * CNA will report to the Nurse Manager/Supervisor of the Unit Duties and Responsibilities: * Provides personal care assistance to patients as directed: (bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting). * Prepares resident for meals; serves and collects trays, assists in setting up and feeding residents/patients; serves fresh water and nourishments when indicated. * Helps residents with transferring and lifting, raising residents in beds and turning residents. * Obtains temperature on residents whose medical conditions warrant such monitoring. Obtains urine samples, weights, intake/output. * Regularly checks on residents/patients, ensuring comfort, dignity and privacy. * Performs related Nurse Assistant duties as assigned for efficient unit operation. * Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. * Oral care, nail care, and basic hygiene. * Bathing and dressing of patient. * Bathing may take place in the form of a bed bath, shower, or tub. * Relaying information to the next CNA on shift, or to the nurse’s in charge. * Post mortem care. Education & Experience Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited CNA program. * Must be licensed, certified or registered with the state. * Active AHA BLS Certification. * Evidence of 1 year of experience in the role of CNA.
