Shifts: 12 Hour Nights Number of openings: 5 Patients treated in the ED range from ambulatory care (simple procedures) psych, pediatric and critical care/trauma patients. The ED is a recognized Level I Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. On average, the unit treats 215 patients per day with multiple inpatient admissions and discharges to home. The ED unit consists of 52 beds which includes ambulatory care treatment spaces, critical care bays and standard treatment areas. The ED ambulance ramp has decontamination showers in case of any biohazard emergency and the ED staff receives hazmat training. The ED is a fast paced environment that treats high acuity patients. The ED nurses manage critical care skills such as medication titrations, arterial lines, mass transfusion of blood and chest tubes. The Emergency Department treats every type of patient. Patients range from urgent care (simple procedures) psych, pediatric and critical care/trauma patients. On average the unit sees 200 patients a day with multiple inpatient admissions and discharges to home. The ED unit consists of 11 treatment rooms on the urgent care side and 26 treatment rooms with 15 hallway spaces for the major side. There are 8 critical care/resuscitation rooms including the trauma bay. The ED ambulance ramp has decontamination showers in case of any biohazard emergency and infuser that infuses blood or IV fluids at a rapid rate. The Alsius ED uses for cooling patients after witnessed v fib arrests. Registered Nurse State (DC) License status must be currently active. Minimum 3 years of experience required.
