Travel Nurse RN - ICU/Critical Care - $2,098 per week in Macomb, IL - ID: 49245544 Shift: 12H Nights Description: Unit Acute Care\"- # Beds: 7- Ratios: 2 patients per nurse - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS): CPR, ACLS, PALS (highly preferred) - Common diagnoses/Types of patientsCOPD, AFIB, post op cases such as colon resection, diabetic, covid, occasional alcohol withdrawal or suicidal, Gi bleed- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Minimum 2 years experience- prefer 2 years ICU - Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes most common are Common titratable &/or set rate dripsCardizem, Levophed, insulin (minimal sedation/ ventilated patients)- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Does the charge nurse take an assignmentYes Jolyn Uttter - Clinical Care Coordinator on day shift, House Supervisor present on off shifts and weekends - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: The nurse aide from Acute Care can float back to help if needed but ICU is basically total patient care - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Hospitalist and nurse practitioner here daily and on call at night and come in if needed during that time, ER can come up or anesthesia, in code/ emergent situations (like intubations- their cardio pulmonary physician can intubate too)- RT in ICU 24/7: RT in house 24/7 - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): BIPAP, Vapotherm, ventilators - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitorsNihon Kohden cardiac monitors. RNs read strips, no monitor tech - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling)7a-7:30pm, 7p-7:30am We post shedules 6 weeks at a time, Management make schedule to fill unit needs, tries to accomidate blocks- will talk with manager- Weekend Requirements: Every third or every other (Nights- Sat Sun, Days,- Sat Sun) work week is Sunday to Saturday- Holiday Requirements: Negotiable. It is helpful if the agency nurse is willing to help - Is there a call or standby requirement: Not required but can be helpful if agency nurse picks up as needed - Floating Requirements: float to Med Surg/Acute Care 1:4. Does not happen often- float core staff and have travelers stay in ICU. Same director for both units, many staff work both units, same charting format, etc.- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Pewter top, black shoes, black socks, black pants- colored tops okay as long as top layer (scrub top or jacket is Pewter) - Unit/Department specific orientation: First week (3 shifts). First 12 hour day to get requirements done with Human Resources, Infection Control, required computer learning, and learn equipment with Staff Development, 4 hours to find things on the unit. Second orientation shift may have 4 more hours of unit orientation/ staff development. 3rs shift is on the floor with preceptor.
