Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery - $2,823 per week in Tripler Army Medical Ctr, HI - Summary : * Works with mothers during antepartum, Labor, Recover and Postpartum. * Monitor mother and fetus vital signs and report any signs or symptoms of possible complications. * Assist MD with delivery of fetus. * Interpret EKG and monitor patient on telemetry. * Reports to Supervisor on Unit. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assess and monitors patient throughout (before/during/after) the labor, Identify complications during labor. * Monitors contractions and helps patient with breathing techniques, monitor patient on Telemetry. * Performs basic IV and central line skills. * Performs phlebotomy skills. * Knowledge of hemodynamics. * Administers pain medication as ordered; administers other meds to address specific medical conditions,such as hypertension and diabetes. * Takes and records patient’s vital signs, ascertains if problematic. * Reads fetal monitor & ascertains if there is a problem with baby’s heart rate. * Identifies & manages life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients. * Checks patient’s cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation. * Ensures patient’s bed is kept dry & clean; cleans up bodily fluids expelled before & after the birthing process. * Contacts anesthesia when/if patient is ready for epidural; contacts delivering physician at appropriate time, ascertains proper time. * Cares for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4 & continuous lumbar epidural. * Ensures patient is in proper position for delivery & all monitoring equipment is functioning properly. * Aids doctor with drapes, gloves, gowns, etc.; hands doctor delivery instruments as needed during birthing process. * Assist MD in Operating Room for C-Section, Monitor patient on Telemetry. * Proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member. * Immediate care of newborn (clean, weigh, etc.). * Gives Apgar scores. Minimum Job Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited nursing program. * Current nursing license, in good standing. * Minimum of one (1) year Labor & Delivery (L/D) experience. * AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN. Travel Nurse RN - Cath Lab - $3,572 per week in Wailuku, HI - Summary : * RN Cath lab helps doctors perform cardiac catheterizations to diagnose and treat heart conditions. * Cath lab nurses typically work in hospitals or outpatient clinics. * Post-procedure, they administer any necessary medications and watch for any side effects or signs of infection in patients. * Reports to the Supervisor and or MD of the Unit. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assess and prepare patient for cardiac procedure: vital signs, review lab results, place on cardiac monitor and pulsox, review consent, access an IV site, administer medication. * Assist doctors who are performing heart catheterizations, angioplasties, implantation of pacemakers, and all cardiac procedures performed. * During cardiac catheterization procedures, cath lab nurses monitor and record patients` vital signs, and they must be ready to intervene if an emergency arises. * Nurse is to be proficient in all cardiac equipment used for catheterization Proficient in EKG and interpretation of all cardiac rhythms, able to identify lethal cardiac rhythms. * Proficient in titrating IV medications Monitors the health of patients but also provides reassurance and insight into what to expect of a procedure and recovery. * Interacts with and help educate both the patient and concerned family members; Relays patient concerns and questions to physicians. * Informs physicians of changes in the patient`s condition. * Maintain proper documentation in patient chart. * Ensure that supplies, including medications and emergency and IV supplies, are stocked and organized.
