Travel Nurse RN - Psych - $2,622 per week in Columbus, OH - Weekly Pay Range - $2360 To $2622 Summary: * Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications. * Arranges further medical attention when necessary. * Assists the client in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment. * Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients. * Reports to the Supervisor of the Unit. Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs head-to-toe assessments, manages/assists group/behavior therapies and other interventions within scope of practice. * Observes for normal vs. abnormal findings and reporting of abnormal findings to Charge Nurse, M.D., if warranted * Intervene with appropriate intervention for urgent/emergent care. * Performs direct care to acute and chronically ill psych patients as well as pediatric, adolescent and geriatric population as related to psychiatric disorders including medication calculation & administration. * Performs basic medical emergency procedures & care within company & facility’s policy’s & procedures. * Identifies and manages life-sustaining physiologic and psychiatric functions in unstable patients. * Communicates therapeutically to patients. * Able to care and manage patients with eating disorders, drug/ETOH detox, manic depressive, hallucination-delusions, suicidal, organic seizure disorders, and management of patients on seclusion procedures. * Participates in psych emergency response team including rapid tranquilization. * Applies restraints, including 4-point, wrist and posey net full body per facility P & P. Education & Experience Requirements: * Current registered nurse licensure in good standing * Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) ACLS if patient is on Telemetry Monitor * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing A minimum of one year recent psychiatric nursing experience in Facility Job Disclaimer: Cynet Health is an equal employment opportunity employer.
