A Little More Personal…

Nursing is my calling because…

He grew up surrounded by family members who work in the medical field, so he always wanted to be a part of that too. He wanted a meaningful career.

Nurses Week means…

Michael sees Nurses Week as a time for nurses to be appreciated for all that they do. They are working tirelessly on the front line for their patients. Nurses manage the care of patients more than doctors do, Michael points out. They deserve to be appreciated for all of the hard work they do.

A Good Nurse Should…

  • Keep a positive attitude even when times are tough
  • Have thick skin, especially in the emergency department
  • Always practice empathy

 A New Nurse Should…

Michael has trained many nurses in the past. He tells them to always ask questions if they are unsure about something. They should know what they are doing for their own safety as well as the safety of their patients. They shouldn’t be afraid to admit that they need help.

Micheal was the winner of TravelNurseSource’s Nurses Week poll. On May 6 – May 10 TravelNurseSource quizzed people on Facebook by using a series of true or false questions. Anyone who answered correctly was entered into a raffle to win a $100 Amazon gift card. Michael was the lucky winner of this year’s Nurses Week Poll! TravelNurseSoure is dedicated to providing resources for nurses every day, but during Nurses Week it is extra important to show love to travel nurses. Check back with TravelNurseSource next year for your chance to win a prize!
