This year, we are excited to announce the return of the TravelNurseSource.com nursing scholarship for full-time nursing students in nursing school or a nursing degree program! Yes, this scholarship is even available to community college students pursuing a college degree.

And it gets even better – this year, we are awarding two $1,000 nursing scholarships to students enrolled in an educational program related to nursing, nursing students accepted into an accredited school, a BSN program, or an rn program!

Who Can Be a Travel Nurse?
This answer is easy. Anyone can become a travel nurse as long as you have at least one year of experience and are licensed in the state you want to work in. Undergraduate and graduate nursing students can both apply to travel nursing jobs, but as mentioned above most travel nursing agencies typically require 1 + year of experience before hiring a registered nurse for a travel job.

Students pursuing a professional registered nurse program at a college or university put in years of hard work, late nights in the library, long shifts, and countless hours in the classroom to earn their nursing education.
But, no matter your work ethic, there is still the hurdle of tuition and financial aid that impedes many aspiring nursing students from pursuing a degree in nursing at an accredited nursing school.

There has always been a demand for more workers in the health professions, and nursing is no different.
Scholarships to Help Shrink the Shortage of Nurses
As of 2021, we currently have a critical shortage of nurses.
We hope that by offering this nursing scholarship program and financial aid twice a year, more undergraduate nursing students enrolled in a nursing program will have the opportunity to complete their nursing education and begin their careers in health care.
When Are the Nurse Scholarships Awarded?
Our nurse scholarship program is offered twice throughout the year, once in the fall semester and in the spring semester. Eligible applicants (university students in higher education) have two opportunities to apply each year.
Winner Announcement
The scholarship recipients will be announced one month after the submission deadline and notified before our public announcement. TravelNurseSource.com will mail a check for the scholarship award to those outstanding nursing students directly to the accredited college or university where the student is enrolled.

With all this talk about the relaunch of our nursing scholarship, you’re probably wondering if you qualify. Let’s take a look at the requirements.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements for Our Scholarship Program
Applicants must meet the requirements below to be considered.
- Applicant must include contact information, proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing program or eligible academic institutions, a headshot, and be in good academic standing.
- Applicants are asked to write a compelling 500-1,000-word essay telling us about their journey to become a nurse. We want to hear what sparked your interest in nursing, what inspired you to pursue a career in nursing, and how this financial aid will move that dream forward.
- Applicants need to be legal U.S. residents. This means international students can also apply for this scholarship.
- Applicants need to be 18 years of age.

Please note that this scholarship is not available to both undergraduate and graduate students. It is only available to undergraduate students currently enrolled.
Students in graduate nursing programs, graduate school, or students earning their graduate degree from a graduate program are not eligible to apply.
