Float Required to Peds & PICU - will receive 6 hour orientation to float units RNs start their own IVs and do their own blood draws RNs attend high-risk deliveries, so DR experience is a plus. Mainly GI surgeries (only 10-15/year) Scrubs Provided Must have an active CA State Registered Nurse License. 1st time travelers are accepted Certification: BLS, PALS, NRP, BSN Experience/Skills: Epic Charting IV Start, Vents Conscious Sedation, ICP, Level 1 Trauma Patient Population: Neonates, Level III - Premature, respiratory distress, multiples common, Late Pre-Term, ELBW, hypoglycemic, sepsis, occasional surgeries. Acuity can range from very acute to non-acute and lacks any pattern. Census can swing from 5 to 20 Bubble CPAP, Cue Based Feeds, Family Centered care Manager’s Notes: Aside from level III NICU skills, I look for fit. If someone thrives in a tertiary setting, we may not be the place for them. If they are OK with variable acuity and pace, great teamwork, an atmosphere of a work family where they can demonstrate reliability, dependability, initiative, critical thinking skills, empathy and compassion then we would love to have them. They would be the first to float. Scheduling is self-provided needs of the unit are met & gaps are filled. Must work holidays.
