First job after receiving my Nursing License

The position I had was day shift 7-3 on a medical floor. It was a medical floor so the patients were mostly geriatric patients with chronic illnesses or acute infections.Some tasks I preformed included Collection of urine specimens /sputum specimens and sent them to lab, vital signs including manual Blood pressure,pulse ,respirations temperature I assisted with bathing and assisting patient to X ray or applying soaks, Anti embolism stockings ..assisted with passing out trays for meals, feeding patients if needed,changing bed linen every day..turning and repositioning patients that could not turn on their own.I would also pass out medication or give injections when ordered/needed. Document in nursing notes and report off to next shift. Staff worked very well with each other as a team. Management was awesome. The most enjoyable part of the job was to see a patient get well and be able to go home.

Wilkes Regional Emergancy Department was a great learning experience!

I loved working in the ER. I loved the excitement of the fast pace, but most of all I loved the variety of care that was given. Learning something new every work day kept me passionate and was inspiring.

Great learning experience and great place to work

I worked with Grant Projects. I learned a great deal about writing Grant Proposals, updates and preparing major presentations. I learned to evaluate needs and install small networks. I learned insurance billing, and other areas of hospital operation. I enjoyed almost all aspects of the job.
