As an RN in this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, monitoring and ensuring quality patient care, providing nursing care in cooperation with physicians, instructing patients and family members, and maintaining knowledge of current trends in the profession. 13 week-assignment/ ASAP START JOB RESPONSIBILITIES             Assesses patients through history, physical exam 1.Performs a physical/psychosocial assessment on assigned patients.  Accurately recognizes patient problems and/or complications utilizing effective assessment skills.  (This is performed on admission and updated each shift.)  Completes dietary and functional screening within 24 hours of admission.  Notifies dietitian of consult if needed.  Reports findings to necessary support staff. 2.Gathers and incorporates all information necessary from all available sources to properly evaluate patient. 3.Always documents initial assessments on the patient admission profile and subsequent assessments in the progress notes in the CPSI System.  Documents in a clear, complete and concise manner utilizing the electronic record (CPSI). 4.Following hospital policy and procedures, consistently completes a nursing assessment upon patient admission to serve as a guide for the nursing care plan (within 8 hours). 5.Participates in discharge planning from time of admission to plan for patient needs.

Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform the duties required of a registered nurse at all times. * Receives and provides adequate report on all clients. * Assesses, plans and implements client care. * Follow Plan of Care. * Receives and transcribes doctor’s orders. * Assists with physical examinations, makes round of assigned clients following guidelines of institution. * Performs specific duties for which the Registered Nurse is responsible including: * Administering oxygen, changing dressings. * Inserts and irrigates urinary catheters. * Administers and records medications given. * Discontinues or hangs additional intravenous bottles and piggybacks. * Administers and draws blood. * Cares for tracheostomy and suctioning endotracheally. * Obtains specimens. * Administers CPR and other emergency procedures as necessary. * Care for patients who need close monitoring and frequent assessment, but aren`t unstable enough to need ICU care * Use computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information * Closely observe patients at all times * Administer medication through an intravenous line that may need to be adjusted or titrated Minimum Job Requirements: * Must hold current RN license. * Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse. * Must have experience in a Stepdown, ICU or LTAC Unit * Must have current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS
